The discovery phase of litigation is typically far and away the most expensive due to the cost of having attorneys review documents before they are produced. BeyondRecognition‘s visual classification of native files and scanned documents provides a way to dramatically reduce the volume of documents that have to be reviewed.
BR’s visual classification occurs automatically, without requiring manual intervention. It provides a way for the lead attorney or project manager to quickly review the different types of documents that are present in the collection, raising the awareness of what the collection contains from the start of the litigation. Many of the clusters or classifications of documents can be completely excluded from further consideration without a document-by-document review.
On other clusters or classifications, BR can perform visual coding providing the attorneys with spreadsheets or coded data such as change order numbers, invoice totals, originating sales person, etc.
Finally, for scanned document images, BR’s glyph-based text conversion process combined with single-instance, cascading and persistent error correction can provide unmatched word and character-level accuracy.
